PENTA (India)

Penta is an entirely unique construction: a hand woven and knotted floor textile which Vanderhurd has developed using the finest quality hand spun wool and silk. The hand woven areas of the carpet are constructed so as to render visible the silk and cotton weft threads, creating a vestigial texture, which is juxtaposed by a raised hand knotted cut pile silk to dramatic effect.

ARTS REVIVAL (India)
Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th Century, the Arts Revival construction has a distinctly artisanal character. Vanderhurd has developed a special soft and chunky 100% handspun felted wool yarn and employed this material in an unusually low knot count construction, resulting in a remarkably unique texture and feel. Arts Revival is exquisite as a monochromatic carpet because of the beautiful striations of colour and the wool’s incredible lustre; this construction is also well suited to a stripe or simple geometric design.

HAND KNOTTED SILK (India)
A hand knotted cut pile construction made entirely of high lustrous silk, which creates an incredibly smooth surface. These 100% silk carpets of hand knotted cut pile construction are the ultimate luxurious textile, not only for their fibres’ luminosity, but also because they are extremely plush.

ISFAHAN (India)
Isfahan is a traditional Indian construction in which the surface fibres are carefully clipped to a low height so that the warp threads are visible, giving the carpet an antique appearance. This carpet is hand knotted with the best New Zealand or indigenous Indian wool, with the optional addition of fine silk, and is suitable for upholstery as well as for floor use.
